Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston

Sharon Brown, C.O.E, C.O.T., is the Director of Operations for Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston. Sharon joined OCB in 1995 with over 10 years of ophthalmic experience and assumed the position of Director of Operations in 2010 as well as serving as the administrator for several of OCB’s affiliated surgery center. In her role at OCB, Sharon oversees a staff of over 600 employees supporting 72 ophthalmologists and optometrist across 18 locations.

Sharon holds leadership positions with a variety of community and ophthalmic organizations. She is the Immediate Past President of the National Board of Certified Ophthalmic Executives and has served on the board of the American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators. Additionally, she has served as the Chair of the Continuing Education Committee for Ophthalmic Medical Personnel of New England Ophthalmologic Society for over 20 years and sits on the Advisory Board of the Hawaiian Eye Foundation.

In the community, Sharon continues to serve on the Board of Directors for several Chambers of Commerce and is a very active member of the Lions Club.

In 2020, Sharon was honored as one of America’s top 20 women leaders in the field of ophthalmology for paving the way for the future generation of women entering the field.

PATRICIA M. MORRIS, MBA, COE

PATRICIA M. MORRIS, MBA, COE

Founder and Principal Consultant

PMCOE / Excellence in Eye Care

Patricia M. Morris has been in the eye industry for 30 years. She is the founder and Principal Consultant for PMCOE / Excellence in Eye Care providing leadership support for ophthalmic and optometric practices nationwide. Miss Morris serves on the Board of Directors for Ophthalmic World Leaders and for Lighthouse Eye Center in Mombasa, Kenya. Pat shares her talents in an administrative missionary capacity for Sights on Health.

Prior to the past 15 years in ophthalmic project management, Miss Morris has held several leadership roles with solo eye care practices, multi-specialty groups, multi-location, hospital & health system based groups, academic centers and high volume refractive surgery centers. Her diplomatic approach cultivates relationships, inspires goodwill and encourages collaboration which achieves sustainable transformation in most settings.

An accomplished speaker, Patricia is a longstanding member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the administrator’s branch of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery where she has been lecturing since 2003. She also presents abroad as well as for local ophthalmic societies such as the New York State Ophthalmological Society, New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology, and Maryland Society of Eye Physicians just to name a few.

Her articles have appeared in several industry periodicals such as Eye World, Ophthalmology Management, and Administrative Eyecare. Patricia is also on adjunct faculty at Harvard University’s TH Chan School of Public Health Center for Executive and Continuing Professional Education.

Patricia received her M.B.A from the Robert B. Willumstad School of Business at Adelphi University in Garden City, NY. She received her green belt in Lean Thinking (Six Sigma) from the Raymond A. Mason School of Business at The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. She received her Certificate in Understanding Diversity and Inclusion (online) from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. Patricia has made a personal commitment to lifelong learning and is currently enrolled in executive studies at a Harvard University’s TH Chan School of Public Health, Boston, MA.

EIMI A. RODRIGUEZ CRUZ

EIMI A. RODRIGUEZ CRUZ

Eimi A. Rodriguez Cruz is the Practice Administrator at the Sue Anschutz-Rodgers UCHealth Eye Centers. She has nearly 20 years of Ophthalmology experience and currently leads a staff of more than 120 people in addition to the more than 30 eye physicians and surgeons whom they support. The annual revenues of the Eye Centers exceed $30 million per year and they see more than 130,000 patients per year in five locations.

Eimi has experience leading and directing enterprise-level strategic operational initiatives, managing large-scale projects, systems implementation, process improvement, complex budgets, and many other high-level tasks. She utilizes her leadership and communication skills in a collaborative and team-based manner in order to achieve outstanding results and outcomes. Some of Eimi’s recent accomplishments include the implementation of an internal technician training program and an internal collaborative healthcare model.

Eimi serves on the Advisory Board for Pima Medical Institute and is frequently asked to serve as an advisor to other practices, both private and university-based, and by many companies in the ophthalmology industry.

Eimi has a bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University. She was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in Germany. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her son.
